IQ EQ (Jersey) Limited (Jersey registered number 49312), formerly First Names (Jersey) Limited, is a corporate services provider regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) under the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 for the conduct of Trust Company Business. Registered office: 2nd Floor, Gaspe House, 66-72 Esplanade, St Helier, Jersey, JE1 1GH.
IQ EQ provides services including: company, partnership, or foundation formation; providing registered office or business address; and arranging for persons to act as directors. IQ EQ is a global investor services group employing 5,000+ people across 25 jurisdictions with assets under administration exceeding USD 750 billion.
First Names was acquired by SSG Group in 2018 and rebranded globally as IQ EQ in 2019. Prior to 2018, First Names grew rapidly through a series of acquisitions of Jersey-regulated trust company businesses between 2012-2016.
In July 2022, the JFSC imposed a civil financial penalty of GBP 803,661 on IQ EQ Jersey (reduced from GBP 1,607,322 for early settlement) for negligent breaches of anti-money laundering requirements and the trust company business code of practice. An independent review of 16 customer structures during 2018-2019 found the Board “did not respond adequately to the increased scale and complexity of the business.”
